RX Spells Retrograde

The rock star of this month’s newsletter is none other than quick-witted Mercury with its spin around the sun and infamous retrograde three times a year. Yep folks, Mercury will be retrograde in the sign of Gemini from May 18th to July 11th of 2015. Consider this newsletter a little survival guide with suggestions on what you can do to make the most of this period.

Susan Miller of Astrology Zone gives a nice explanation of what is actually happening with Mercury during this time:

Mercury doesn't actually move backward. If you do a bit of stargazing, you will see that Mercury appears to move backward, just as the ancient astrologers perceived thousands of years ago. After a while - in Mercury's case, a three-and-a-half-week period - the planet will reverse itself and move "forward" again. Because Mercury is the planet situated closest to the Sun, its orbit is much shorter than Earth's. About three or four times a year, Mercury speeds past Earth, and that is when we experience a Mercury retrograde period. If you were in a car and another car passed you, you could tell it was going faster than you. But if it slowed down and you then passed it, it would appear that that car was actually going backward. Then when the other car speeds up and passes you again, it kicks up all of the dust in the road. As Mercury speeds by, it is like a train flying past, creating a powerful, turbulent gust of "wind" in its wake.

Make sure to back up all electronics!
Expect friends, loved ones, maybe even ex-lovers from the past to reappear.
Revise, rewrite, respond, reconnect, restore, rearrange, reassess, revisit, reduce.
Careful attention should be paid to communication of all kinds. Think before you speak.
Use this time to find neutral. Shift down from the high speeds of life.
Reread, reevaluate, reflect, recharge.
Yield when a certain situation seems impossible. There may be another way through.

Just yesterday I was knee-deep in my storage unit re-reading my journals from when I was 17 and 18 years old. A perfect retrograde activity!
